Territory Manager/District Sales Manager

POSITION: Territory Manager/District Sales Manager
COMPENSATION: Salary and Commission
LOCATION: Europe and U.S. Mid-Atlantic (2 positions)

REPORTS TO: Vice President of Sales

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The District Sales Manager’s objective is to successfully promote, present, demonstrate and sell the company’s range of within their service region. These objectives are accomplished by making the most out of established Somero training, business and sales practices and methodology. The position promotes the Copperhead PowerRake and Laser Screed by maintaining and developing business relationships with established and new customers. The DSM will effectively work with other departments within Somero to maintain a satisfied customer.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Actively pursue all sales leads in the territory.
  • Proactively develop a stream of new prospects with a view to maintaining a full sales funnel.
  • Coordinate and execute all small-line product demonstrations within the service region.
  • Cultivate relationships with all Somero equipment owners in the region and continually monitor their activity with a view to generate net-new business opportunities.
  • Cultivate & nurture relationships with machine operators to facilitate information flow for product development & PR opportunities.
  • Attend trade shows and company sales meetings as required by the RSD.
  • Maintain customer records in Salesforce.com.
  • Develop and execute direct marketing activities in region.
  • Establish Territory and Time Management methods to successfully accomplish territory objectives.
  • Set territory objectives and goals with RSD and develop clear plans to achieve results.
  • Submit accurate monthly sales forecasts and other reports as requested by management.
  • Maintain and turn in timely, accurate, and reasonable expense reports.
  • Effectively use available Somero technology to establish administrative and contact objectives.
  • Submit to the Sales Administrative Department accurate and timely sales orders.
  • Prepare, log and effectively work with the Sales Administrative department to properly develop customer sales proposals.
  • Communicate any needed information to affected departmental manager.
  • This is a travel job with as much as 70-80% travel necessary to perform the function well. Must be able to plan and execute his/her own travel with ongoing consideration for operating within budget.
  • This is a field-oriented job. Candidates must be able to work carefully and safely on construction sites that are controlled and managed by customers and prospects.
  • Must be a good communicator, able to conduct effective training sessions, interface with business owners, and lead a concrete placement crew.
  • Must have the mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on small engines, hydraulics, and Laser equipment.
  • Should be computer-savvy enough to communicate via e-mail, have basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills and to record sales and service events in Salesforce.com.
  • Must be able to understand technical and non-technical documents relating to operating, training, maintenance, and repair of the equipment.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4 year college Degree
  • 3-5 years construction industry experience and/or equivalent
  • 1-2 Years Sales and Service Experience
  • Must Valid Passport
  • Must possess a valid drivers license

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Extensive travel 70% to 80%.
  • Ability to work extended hours as business needs dictate.
  • Ability to work safely in a construction site
